Abroad101 is the first study abroad review website. Founded in 2007, it also provides a platform for colleges and universities to manage education abroad program evaluations and it offers that service free of charge to universities. Abroad101 is focused on college-level study abroad and is supported by the advertising and sponsorship from foreign host-universities and third-party program providers.
Mark Shay was an early investor in Abroad101 and through a partnership with Ledra Capital, Mark took over the business in 2012. In his five years running the business, the company appeared at conferences like NAFSA, The Forum on Education Abroad and various other international education meetings. Pictured are some of the exhibit booth and promotional material designs. Abroad101 encourages students to study abroad and believes a student will grow and learn more from seeing the world. Their mission to help students better prepare for study abroad is conveyed through the literature, web site graphics and social media all designed by InternetCarbon and Sherry Shay.
Abroad101 is now managed by Ledra Capital and their Cyprus-based team. Mark provides ongoing support and advice while Sherry continues to contribute graphics, images and social media support for the enterprise.
